We can also assist with helping to locate old pensions, pension forecasting and signposting onto other organisations such as iHeat and Legal Services Agency for other specialised help. For example, Mrs McC called in with a letter from a debt collection agency. Her debt was originally with Tesco, and she had been unable to deal with any letters that were sent to her. Mrs McC now wanted to repay her debt but didn’t know where to start. We filled in a financial statement with her and confirmed that the debt was hers. We also carried out a benefit check to make sure she was receiving all the benefits that she should be claiming.
Once we had worked out her income and expenditure we had a clearer idea of the different debt solutions that Mrs McC could access. We contacted her creditor with her updated financial statement and an offer of payment that Mrs McC felt comfortable with, which was accepted. With regular contact from us and guidance, Mrs McC is well on her way to clearing her debt.
