Carer’s Allowance Supplement

The eligibility date to receive the next Carer’s Allowance Supplement will be 11 October 2021 and eligible carers will receive their supplement of £231.40 this December.
 
Subject to Parliamentary approval, there will also be an additional payment in December, to provide extra support to carers during the ongoing pandemic.
 
The Carer’s Allowance Supplement is an extra payment for people in Scotland who are already in receipt of Carer's Allowance. People receiving Carer’s Allowance on the qualifying dates will receive the Carer’s Allowance Supplement twice a year.

Carers in receipt of Carer’s Allowance do not need to make an application for the Supplement – it is paid automatically to people who are living in Scotland and receiving Carer's Allowance on the qualifying date.
