Scottish Child Payment

The Scottish Government has confirmed that it will increase the Scottish Child Payment (SCP) to £25 and expand eligibility to those aged between 6 and 15 from 14 November 2022, meaning over 400,000 children in total will potentially be eligible for the increased payment.

The SCP will provide £1,300 of additional funding per eligible child per year, in addition to any financial support provided by the UK Government or other support provided by the Scottish Government. This means that over 100,000 children in low income households will have benefited from a 150 per cent increase in the SCP in just eight months.
